The Adult & Continuing Education Center at York County School of Technology has been providing education, training and services to adult students in the South Central Pennsylvania region since 1969. Our comprehensive technical programs predominately focus on technical training in high demand occupations leading to certifications and nationally recognized credentials. YCST was the first in the state to earn full public postsecondary vocational accreditation from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. York County School of Technology features state-of-the-art training technology and first class training facilities. Whether your goal is practical nursing, medical assistant, medical billing & coding, dental, or phlebotomy, we've got you covered! Classes begin several times per year, and there is no separate application process for your clinical portion! Our grads are hired by a variety of regional healthcare providers and facilities and are fully prepared for certifications/licensure upon completion.
Our hands-on skilled trades programs are designed to get you into the workforce in under a year. Prepare for employment in the auto repair industry in our Automotive Technology program. Learn comprehensive auto mechanics with a NATEF & ASE-aligned curriculum. Course includes PA State Inspection & Emissions training. Our HVAC program will teach you to perform a variety of technical tasks related to installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Includes EPA 608 and OSHA-10 certification. Cosmetology prepares you for employment in the beauty industry and encompasses the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the State Board of Cosmetology licensing exam upon completion of the program. Includes practical and theoretical study of hair, skin, and nails.
Includes Commercial Truck Driving (CDL) Training Program, a three-phase program including classroom, yard, and road time. Preparation for knowledge test provided. We also offer Non-Commercial ("regular") Driver Training & Testing to get your new driver trained and behind the wheel. We are a PennDOT certified testing center; our examiners are PennDOT certified and our testing routes are approved by PennDOT. Driver training is offered as both online and behind-the-wheel. All applicable COVID guidelines are strictly followed.
